Budget Cut Summary

A summary of some of the more significant proposed cuts for those that have not been able to follow this in detail:
Elementary Schools
Cut 9.5% of the basic classroom teachers (11 out of 116)
Cut music, art and phys ed in half, and cut music and art from kindergarten (overall, 9.2 out of 14.3 specialistteachers (64%) would be cut)
Cut ACE (Academic Challenge and Enrichment Program)
Cut remaining library staffing
 
Middle School
Cut one cluster in 6th grade - (9% of teachers - 4 of 44)
Cut world languages from 6th grade
Reduce electives (looks like 1/2 of elective teachers would be cut)
Cut Drama and Library
Cut ACE
High School
Cut 14 teachers (out of about 76, or 18%)
Other
Cut 11 special ed positions
Cut all traffic supervisors (aka crossing guards)
Cuts in administration, professional development, custodial, and books
